2. It is very important to determine the color temperature and color rendering index of the lighting fixture, or the color points of the light, and determine the corresponding color with the highest performance according to the specific application. 3. Determine the power and luminous angle of the lighting fixture. The design of the application scenario determines the layout and quantity of the lighting fixture, while the height and illumination requirements of the ground and workbench also determine the selection of the lighting fixture power and luminous angle.
4. After confirming the above, we will move on to the selection section of COB. Firstly, we need to determine the corresponding COB for the required power and luminous angle of the lighting fixtures. Large angle and large emitting surface COB; A small angle with a small emitting surface COB is suitable, for example, a 9mm emitting surface COB is suitable for 30W below 15 °, a 6mm emitting surface COB is suitable for 20W, a 4mm emitting surface COB is suitable for 15W, and a 3mm emitting surface COB is optimal for 10W. Among them, both 4mm and 3mm can reach angles below 10 °. If the application is at a large angle, a 9mm emitting surface can be considered for angles above 24 ° up to 20W, a 12-14mm emitting surface can be considered for 30W, and a 19mm emitting surface can be considered for 40W-50W.
5. The relationship between the heat dissipation of the internal chip of COB and the size of the emitting surface is very large. The current density of the small emitting surface is high, requiring higher heat dissipation conditions. The current density of the large emitting surface is relatively small, and the heat dissipation requirements are relatively lower. However, in the case of high-power and high current, the heat dissipation needs to consider using the large emitting surface as much as possible to ensure light efficiency and reliability.

The selection of COB brands, each brand has its own strengths, some brands are strong and have high terminal recognition, some product lines have full power, some have good color consistency, and some have high light efficiency. Choosing COB should be based on the positioning of one’s own lighting brand, such as choosing different COB products for circulation lighting and engineering.
7. The selection of COB cannot be separated from optical matching, and this work should be carried out simultaneously. The quality of a lighting fixture and the effectiveness of on-site application are largely determined by the matching of COB and optical components. It is important to inquire about the most suitable combination of optical components for each COB brand and model. It is best to develop optical components for each lighting fixture specifically for the project.
8. After confirming the COB LED and optics, test the overall heat dissipation design of the light fixture’s heat dissipation body. If it is not reasonable, adjust the heat dissipation structure or choose a new COB and optical solution. However, in principle, after selecting COB and optics, the heat dissipation design should be modified to match the previous one.
